We are sending a short report on the main activities of HH JPS on 23rd and
24th of March 2009. As per 23rd it was a normal day with therapies for gm
but had a special point where Gurumaharaja as it is common on Monday gave a
lecture to the devotees and doctors of the Bhaktivedanta Hospital. He also
mentioned the he was not very happy to leave the hospital soon as he was
feeling always at home but one should not live all the time in hospitals,
but that now he is going to Tirupati and then to Mayapur for the 60th Sri
Vyasapuja celebration.
HG Sarvaisvarya prabhu brought one of the most prominent ayurvedic doctors
in south India from Kottakal to see Gurumaharaja and had a meeting with all
the main doctors.
Today 24th of March 2009 we had a great program that we can call the
festival of reciprocation. The devotees who were attending HH JPS wanted to
thank the doctors and all the staff of the Bhaktivedanta Hospital for their
service to our beloved Gurumaharaja.
The program was one of the best we have ever had here in many ways, it was
with the presence of the safari devotees who arrived same day morning from
Mayapur or Vrndaban. Devotees went early to the auditorium at the 5th floor
of the hospital and started kirtans, at 7 pm HH Radhanath Swami came to be
during the kirtans while HH JPS was ready to come at almost 7:30 pm, the
presence of both great preachers and disciples of Srila Prabhupada
surcharged the place with ecstatic energy.
The program is to offer glorification to al the BVH staff and give them some
gifts and thanks from all the congregation of worldwide disciples of our
Gurumaharaja. Two doctors came to me and said, “you see we have to learn
from you how to reciprocate as you all have done it well”. It was out of
their humility they said that as they are excellent devotees in all means.
At the same time was to thank HH RNS and glorify his dedication to Srila
Prabhupada and his preaching.
Many speeches were spoken that touched the hearts of all those who were
present. HG Prema krita Prabhu from Chicago, a Srila Prabhupada disciple who
was present at this moment, HG Revathi Raman prabhu TP of ISKCON Tirupati,
Sarvaisvarya Prabhu, TP of Coimbatore and Guruvayor ISKCON temples. HH
Radhanath Swami spoke about HH JPS and the service they feel much honored to
give to a very senior devotee of our society who is serving Srila Prabhupada
completely and with all his energy, he also mentioned about few words that
HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami told him before leaving this planet about the
preaching and traveling of HH JPS to even places where no one else would go.
Also he narrated the story of Gurumaharaja becoming Indian citizen. HH JPS
also spoke thanking all of them and narrated few stories of inspiration told
by the nurses of the hospital.
The main people who received the gifts were the Doctors staff, Their graces,
Madhavananda Prabhu, Shyamlal Prabhu, Acyutananda prabhu, Siromani Mataji
and many others like Dr Dwarkadish Prabhu a very reputed physician, Nirmal
Candra prabhu and his wife who is also ayurvedic doctor, Giriraj Prabhu,
Vaishnava Seva prabhu, Adikeshava Prabhu, Gaurasundara prabhu and his wife,
both ophthalmologists. Dr Chaku Prabhu and his wife who is also
Physiotherapist and many many more.
The master of ceremony was Her Grace Ananda Mayi Radha Devi dasi. This
program was organized by Bhadra Balaram prabhu, Ekanath Gaura prabhu,
Mahavaraha Prabhu, Dharesha Prabhu and was co-sponsored by Divya Gopal
prabhu, assisting them were all the servants and cooks of Gurumaharaja, as
Vasudevatmaja prabhu and Devo Gauranga prabhu and Rushi Rangata prabhu.
The second part of the ceremony was for the safari group to honor the
Bhaktivedanta Hospital including HH RNS, and all were given certificates,
the part was introduced by HG Marici das prabhu and Manohar prabhu who also
performed some magic presentation for the pleasure of the devotees after the
protocol event. I had the mercy to be master of ceremony of this second
phase of the event, Also few words of appreciation a part from the
certificate we gave to them, and we mentioned how in the future people will
be envious or jealous of all of those who had the mercy to be at this moment
on earth and been disciples serving great vaishnavas as HH JPS and HH
RNS.The event concluded with Safari dance and other presentation with nice
outfits depicting pastimes of Radha Krishna.
After 10 pm a big feast of prasada was there that al devotees were impressed
with its richness and variety.
HH Radhanath Swami was scheduled to leave to the airport as he has to fly
abroad at 2:45 am, I had the chance to make a short interview to him on the
preaching activities of our beloved Gurumaharaja for the DVD and magazine I
am trying to make on his more than 4 decades as a devotee, hoping to come up
with something for the next Vyasapuja celebration.
There was also a group of professional TV documentary producers present from
Argentina and will be through the entire safari shooting the main events for
their TV production.
Today we will have a night program at JUHU temple, The safari devotees went
to Chowpati Mandir and tomorrow night at Mira road temple, whereas on 27th
morning there will Deity Installation program at Khargar temple in new
Bombay.
