Guru Maharaja Himself mercifully decided to go to Kolkata via Delhi on
Friday, 19th June, 2009 to give blessings not only to the disciples but all
well wishers from Delhi who are still praying for Guru Maharaja’s health
recovery daily to Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi ji after managal aratik.
Guru
Maharaja reached at Delhi airport at 11 pm after his 8 hrs journey from
London
Heathrow. Guru Maharaja was accompanied 2 of his personal travelling
secretaries,
His Grace Maha Varaha prabhu and His Grace Ekanath Gaura Prabhu. Even
though it
was too late and GM was tired of travelling long distance, still at Airport
he pleased the devotees by giving time and energy to accept garlands from
devotees who were anxiously waiting for a glance
of their Loving spiritual master’s mercy. Guru maharaja also blessed
everyone
by his merciful darshan & giving everyone maha garlands.
It was
around 12 midnight and we started to upload luggage to 4 vehicles, this
time
guru maharaja had really extra luggage, as he had to carry two different
type of walkers and ayurvedic medicines, etc. even though at midnight there
was heavy traffic on the road back to temple.
When Guru maharaja reached temple, some
groups of devotees welcomed guru maharaja with kirtan and Garlands, also
they
arranged a big welcome with colorful rangoli, diwali lamps all the way,
balloons, fresh flowers & garlands and decorating the path all the way from
parking to the room, even inside the lift they decorated with may festoon
and
big welcome board, the writtingd were ” welcome to our dear most Gurudev
Srila Jayapataka
Swami Maharaja”.
Room was fully decorated with fresh flowers, lamps, bouquet,
balloons, festoon, and natural incense fragrances. Guru maharaja thanked
all
the devotee who did all this arrangement to welcome him. Later,
Guru maharaja honored little dinner Prasad, as it was ekadasi in Delhi so
guru maharaja honored ekadasi dosa stuffed and apple pudding and then gave
arrival address to devotees present there and met the devotee personally
one by one and tried to remember all of them by name. Guru Maharaja was
telling
about his health, travellings and preaching activities.
Finally Guru Maharaja went
to bed around 3 am and got up around 6.30 a.m.Hiss holiness wasn’t able to
sleep well
because of jet leg or travelling all the way from Atlanta to Delhi via
London. After His morning duties Guru Maharaja took quick breakfast and
then
we took guru maharaja to next room which was houseful with disciples and
well wishers. Guru Maharaja very kindly accepted Guru Puja on behalf of
GuruParampara and personally distributed sweet and salty prasadam to the
entire devotee present. Around 200 disciples/devotees from Delhi and
Gurgaon, Faridabad, Vrindavan, and Chandigarh had arrived to have darshan,
association of Guru Maharaja. After guru puja Guru Maharaja spoke for about
an hour. He gave opportunity to know about him, I meant GM spoke about his
current health situation and the different therapies that his holiness is
taking
to improve his health. Guru Maharaja described how Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu
came to Nabadwip after long time of taking sannyasa and devotees received
His Lordship
with great eagerness and enthusiasm. Devotees from Mayapur were so eager
that all got up on one boat and boat drowned in water. Then they all went
by
swimming in Ganges and in ecstasy by chanting the names of Lord Gauranga
and
finally reach at Vidhyavacaspati’s home, brother of Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya
at vidya nagar which is situated other side of Ganges near navadvip. Guru
Maharaja was speaking for about an hour which went till 1 a.m. After that
Guru Maharaja went to his room for ayurvedic treatment from 1 to 2p.m and
Bathing, and took lunch very late. After taking rest for two hours, GM got
up
for next program i.e. he gave shelter to about 15 devotees from Delhi and
nearby area and after at around 7.30 p.m. in the evening Guru Maharaja
walked toward temples climbing stairs, entered to temple to have the
darshan
of Their Lordship Sri Sri Radha Parthasarthi, Sri Gaura Nitai and Ram
Darbar. After reaching temple room at this time temple president His Grace
Mohan Rupa prabhu and vice president His Grace Vrajendra nandan prabhu
welcome Guru maharaja officially from iskcon temple, and thanked Guru
Maharaja for showering mercy to Delhi by visiting for one day. Temple room
was packed with 400 devotees who were waiting eagerly to hear from guru
maharaja. Hindi translation was going on together as Hindi is local
language
of Delhi. GM described his journey from 23rd October, 2008, the day He got
the
stroke. Guru Maharaja started with Srila Prabhupada saying that when
devotees pray for some devotee then Krishna gives blessings to that devotee.
He told that he has survived because of prayers of devotees around the
world. He gave special credit to His dear god brothers, GBC members who
prayed for him and always wanted Him to come back and Guru Maharaja
specially
thanked His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaja, His Holiness Radhanath
Swami Maharaja, His Holiness Lokanath Swami Maharaja, and His Holiness
Kavichandra Swami Maharaja. Guru maharaja described how he continued
treatment at Bombay and then ayurvedic treatment at Coimbatore and then He
went to middle east, London and finally reached USA Atlanta new panihati
dham, He also described in detail how he co-organized and help to celebrate
this
panihati Chida dhadhi festival at new panihati dham in Atlanta. Even though
GM health is not good He personally went inside the kitchen and helped to
mix different items to make 21 different varieties of offering from chipped
rice for Gaura Nitai and Jagannath.
Devotees are amazed to see Guru Maharaja’s
Health and His desire to travel all the way from India to US and preach. He
also described His desire to be part of rathyatra in Delhi ever year, very
rare Guru Maharaja missed Delhi rathyatra. After class Guru Maharaja walked
back to his room. If you do not know about iskcon Delhi, Delhi temple is
full of staircase and even the paths are not straight, one have to go
down and up again. When he reached the room, Guru Maharaja met devotees in
His
room for personal darshan and at same time took dinner prasadam. It was
around 11p.m. but guru maharaja room is filled with devotee, but guru
maharaja was also
giving mercy non stop to everyone how came to see him in the room. GM slept
very late around 12.30 am and got up early next day (Sunday 21st June)to
board his flight for Kolkata (Mayapur) for next acupuncture treatment there
for 1 month and also not to miss 34th Jagannath rath yatra in KOLKATA .
When Guru maharaj was leaving in early morning devotees were sad so much
that they do not want to miss the association of Gurudev and want to
continue their personal service to gurudev. Finally we reach Delhi airport
before time. Many disciples and devotees went to airport to farewell
Gurudev for his Causeless mercy by visiting Delhi. I accompanied Guru
Maharja from Delhi to Kolkata together in the same flight. Inside the
airport after our checkin at jet airways, we went to one lounge where I
served guru maharaja with south Indian breakfast pongal with coconut
chutney
as well as Oats. After the breakfast of guru maharja we started toward
security check and boarding. And finally our flight took off. Devotees in
Delhi were highly satisfied seeing their Guru Maharaja again traveling,
preaching and distributing Lord Nityananda’s mercy like ever. All devotees,
disciples, well wishers and temple management are highly indebted to His
Holiness Jayapataka Swami Guru Maharaja for showering unlimited mercy to
delhites.
