Hare Krsna. Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila
Prabhupada. All glories to Srila Gurudeva.
First of all I would like to wish you all a very Happy Radhastami! He is now
in Sri Mayapur Dham to celebrate this most auspicious occasion. Today is
also the 39th Anniversary of Guru Maharaja’s Sannyasa!
After the Kolkata Rathayatra for 10 days in July, Guru Maharaja was in
Mayapur for 20 days taking the accupuncture therapy, physiotherapy, hydro
therapy and face therapy. For few days one of his aspiring disciple from
Manipal came to visit Guru Maharaja and since she was studying speech
therapy he took speech therapy from her for few days. In the evening Guru
Maharaja used to give question and answer session which was broadcasted over
internet. Guru Maharaja is happy when devotees see him over internet. If
there is any philosophical questions one can ask him over there. He always
would inquire how many are watching over the internet.
After Mayapur, Guru Maharaja had planned to come down to South India to have
a village cure treatment near Tirupati at a place called Virupakshapuram.
Since Guru Maharaja had earlier given a word to Satya Gopinath prabhu, the
Temple President of Rajamundhry in Andhra Pradesh to perform the
installation of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai on Balarama Purnima. He thought that
going to this village cure is Krsna’s arrangement so that he can also take
part in this installation ceremony.
So after Mayapur he went for a day to Mumbai to do a general check up of his
body in Bhaktivedanta hospital. After the checkup they said that his liver
enzymes are better but his eyes are of concern.
Then Guru Maharaja came down to Rajamundhry and did the installation of
Gaura Nitai Deities. They are very beautiful and made of marble. The temple
is built by the banks of Godavari and Guru Maharaja took a dip in this holy
river. Also there was initiation ceremony. I am taking this opportunity to
tell the devotees if anyone wants to take initiation 1st or 2nd kindly have
all the paper work done and the exam completed whenever you are ready. Do
not wait for the initiation ceremony to happen and then do everything. One
never can predict when Guru Maharaja would have the initiation ceremony.
Please tell your authorities whenever you are ready and they should be
informed to go through all the formal procedures in advance.
After Rajamundry Guru Maharaja went for a day to Hyderabad to catch a flight
to Tirupati. The next day of his arrival to Tirupati he was taken to
Virupakshapuram. The doctor is originally from North India, a Maratiyan but
they have settled down in Andhra for many years. They are treating only the
stroke and paralysed patients in their parampara. They give an herbal
medicine for one day and on that day Guru Maharaja cannot eat anything
except cooked boiled rice. No vegetables, fruits, salt, spice or oil. Just
plain rice. He has to eat rice with rice! It was very austere for Guru
Maharaja. The doctor had given high hopes of curing Guru Maharaja 100
percent. So we have to keep praying intensely and give the result of any
festival observances like Radhastami, Ekadasi etc for our Guru Maharaja.
Also some devotees are continuing to chant Narasimha kavacas and also extra
rounds of Hare Krsna mahamantras.
The doctor gave three doses of medicine with an interval of 3hrs. While we
were waiting there for the next dose of medicine devotees had opportunity to
meet other patients as well. If the patient is brought right away after the
stroke then the result is much quicker. Almost in a week time they can walk
and talk normally. Since it has been already 9 months past Guru Maharaja’s
stroke it might take a little longer. The following day after the intake of
the medicine for 2 months Guru Maharaja has to be on a strict diet
prescribed by Guru Maharaja. He can only take heating food items and all
cold items has to be avoided. Guru Maharaja is asked to come again after 15
days.
Devotees mentioned that if the doctor is able to cure Guru Maharaja then he
would become world famous. The doctor didn’t want any publicity and he
didn’t accept even any money. The ministers and many big leaders come in
cars to take his treatment. Hardly there are houses in this village but
easily one can see hundreds of cars waiting to take the treatment from this
doctor. But ultimately Krsna is the controller and we have to pray to
intensely to see that some therapy works and he can be cured fully.
