Hare Krishna,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
Jay Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga!
Guru Maharaja came to Kuala Lumpur on 12. September. It’s been one year
since his last visit to Malaysia.
One of the main reasons for coming here is to continue hyperbaric oxygen
therapy that Guru Maharaja has started to receive in Delhi. Here they have
better set up for that treatment. Guru Maharaja is going to the hospital
every morning after his breakfast for the mentioned oxygen treatment, and
comes back for the lunch. After his lunch he takes short rest and then
continue with physiotherapy.
For the physiotherapy he goes to the Stroke Rehabilitation Center run by one
buddhist association. It’s a kind of a welfare service, they charge 10$ per
hour. They have a really good set up, with all required machines and with
professional physiotherapist who has a very personal approach to the
patients. Guru Maharaja spends there 2 hours every day. Physiotherapist says
that Guru Maharaja has enough strength in his legs to walk, but he has lack
of balance and coordination, so they are working especially on that.
Guru Maharaja’s diet for loosing weight shows some results. He’s loosing
about one kg per week, and Nutrician says it’s very good. He’s supposed to
loose weight gradually and not feel hungry. For the time being, Guru
Maharaja’s cook Ivesvara Dasa manages to accomplish it, in coordination with
Nutrician (it’s a challenge!).
Every evening Guru Maharaja gives class in the house where he stays with his
servants. The classes has been broadcasting on JPS Vani website. Some
devotees come to attend the classes, not too many at the time, mostly 10-20
devotees.
Local managers has sceduled different yatras from all over the
country to come for different days, so it’s never too crowded and exhausting
for Guru Maharaja (of course, for Guru Maharaja’s preaching spirit is never
exhausting, but we have to think about his health and time schedule).
Few days ago Guru Maharaja went to a picnic with devotees of one yatra that
came to visit him. That day was holiday and he didn’t have the therapy in
the hospital, so he went with devotees in the nearby park and gave class
there. After that he was practicing volley ball with all assembled devotees
and they had a lot of fun.
The day before yesterday he gave class to the students as the part of
Malaysian Youth program. 30-40 students from all over the country came and
got Guru Maharaja’s blessings and association.
Guru Maharaja has visited the temple a couple of times. He has attended 2
Sunday feast programs till now. For the first Sunday devotees had organized
the Vyasa Puja of Prabhavishnu Swami in the temple, and the next Sunday was
the Vyasa Puja of Bhakticaru Swami. Guru Maharaja participated in both the
programs, he gave his homages to respected Maharaja’s and offered
puspanjali.
The house in which Guru Maharaja stays is very comfortable, clean and full
of light. It has the big hall that serves as a temple room, for the classes
and programs, and besides Guru Maharaja’s room has many smaller rooms for
all the servants. It has a big and nice kitchen where all day some cooking
is going on, and there is no shortage of prasadam for anyone. One local
grihasta couple is taking care for the needs of the servants, and taking
care of the house, cleanliness, altar, etc. It’s giving an impression of
home atmosphere, and it’s really very nice. It seems all the services are
going on smoothly and in order.
Beside to Guru Maharaja’s house is located the house of Marici Prabhu, Guru
Maharaja’s secretary and very senior disciple (actualy, he found this house
for Guru Maharaja). My husband and myself are staying in Marici Prabhu’s
house and cook there for Guru Maharaja.
Your servant,
Teja Gaurangi dd
