Narasimha Kavaca chanting – further guidelines

From: Radha-prana raja dasa JPS

Note: For any one who wants to chant.

———- Forwarded Message ———-
Dear devotees and disciples of HH Jayapataka Swami Guru Maharaja the most
exhalted son of  Srila Prabhupada!

Please  accept our humble obeisances, All Glories to Sri Guru and Sri
Gauranga!

My wife Anupama dasi and I are chanting Narasingha Kavacha in front of Guru
Maharaja’s picture atleast twice a day.  The Narasingha Kavacha was narrated
by Sri Prahalada Maharaja in the presence of Lord Narasimha Deva, so is a
extremely powerful protective mantra.

At this most difficult time of all our spiritual lives, Our prayers to Sri
Krishna and to *His most powerful Protective Form *of Sri Narasimha deva *is
our only only recourse.*

I am enclosing the The Narasimha Kavacha from Brahmanda Purana . along with
instructions here……I am  humbly requesting all devotees to
……please…….make an effort to sincerly chant this Kavacha
*every day*——
and please forward it to as many disciples and well wishers you know.

Here’s how to do it:

– Have a bath (shower) before chanting the Narasinga Kavaca. *This is a
must*
– Do not eat or do any other activities till completing the Chanting
– Keep Guru Maharaja’s photo in front of you
– Face East or West
– imagine applying the Narasinga Kavacha on *Guru Maharaja’s** *form, not
yours (from head to toe).
– It takes approximately 15 minutes and covers every portion of the body
from head to toe.
– Please do not hesitate or get discouraged, it took me only one day to
get it by heart.
– Never lose hope- please chant this mantra sincerely *with full
faith*(it saved my own relative from nearly hopeless condition in the
ICU)

shri nrisinha-kavacham stotram

Text 1 & 6:  Description of Lord Sri NarasimhaDeva as seen by Prahalada

Now I will speak the *sacred armor of Lord Nrsimha*, which Prahlad Maharaja
spoke in ancient times, and which gives all protection, destroys all

and glorious with the splendor of rubies, who is the crown of the demigods
headed by Indra…..

6) virajita-padad-dvand vam

various weapons, who is filled with bliss, and whom Gaurda humbly glorifies
with many prayers………..

7) svaa-hrt-kamala-sam vaasam

of arms He tears the demons asunder and kills them in this way. He is always
seeking out and tormenting the demonic descendants  of Diti, both on this
earth planet and in the higher planets, and Hs throws them down and scatters
them. He cries with great anger as He destroys the demons in all directions,
yet with His unlimited hands He sustains, protects, and nourishes the cosmic
manifestation. I offer my respectful obeisances to the Lord, who has assumed
the form of a transcendental lion.
