HH Jayapataka Swami Guru Maharaja arrived on the 16th of December to
Mathuadesh and left for Shyamadesh on the 22nd.
Guru Maharaja stayed in the home of Buddhi Krishna das and Sakhikala
mataji’s home. Their home became open to all the devotees 24X7 for these
seven days, as devotees lovingly took turns to come and serve Guru Maharaja
and his secretaries.Whenever Guru Maharaja returned to this place after a
program or after a walk, he would jokingly ask Sakhikala mataji, “Does the
Svami stay here?!”
We had according to the advise of the secreatraies Maha Varaha prabhu and
Ekanath Gauranga prabhu decided to have alternate days hall programs and on
alternate days to have smaller programs for less devotees at home.The hall
programs in the evenings hosted more than 500 devotees every evening and on
the last day of the intitation , more than 800 devotees.
There were so many children of different ages starting from 3 uptil 14 and
16 who were there at the home waiting to have a glimpse of Guru Maharaja
during the dY, kept chanting a special children’s kirtan for Guru Maharaja
when he had his meals , so he could hear through the window overlooking the
compound outside.This was completely impromptu and was inspired by the
matajis’s kirtan going on outside Guru Maharaja’s door inside the home!Guru
Maharaja said that the children were competing with the matajis to serve
him! The children also chanted for him when he walked to the home from his
car. They were all of them seated in the front row during all the lectures,
more than 50 of them. Guru Maharaja kept remarking that these are all
“Vaikuntha children”.That he should not praise them before them , but he
was happy with their faith and devotion.Guru Maharaja was happy to hear
about the winter camp going on in different parts of the city for children
organized by Vrajeswari mataji wife of Mukunda Murari das and that had an
average attendance of 60 children.Also we were going to have a youth camp
in Sohar. Guru Maharaja remarked that I do not know what exactly is being
taught, but the children are wonderful!
Paresha Krishna prabhu headed a team of 3 matajis Malini kanthi dd,
Baladayini dd and Amrtamayi dd, who planned each and every meal of Guru
Maharaja in consultation with Madhava kantha prabhu. Guru Maharaja semed to
enjoy his meals. Each meal was from a different state and also included
continental.Guru Maharaja requested Paresha prabhu to include more cooks
next time as usual so he could have a more variety of flavors.
The prabhus headed by Vraja prana das assisted the secretaries in doing all
the other services for Guru Maharaja including staying up overnight to
keep a watch on Guru Maharaja.So many devotees from different Maha chakras
were rotatated to do the services.
Guru Maharaja also went for walk by the sea in Qurum and also visited the
home of Madan mohan prabhu and Prema nandini mataji. He had lunch prasadam
and took his afternoon nap before leaving for Buddhi Krishna prabhu’s house.
We had 51 initiations, 5 second initiations and 60 shelter candidates and
many aspirants.
After the initiation, all the devotees visiting from other cities like
Sohar, Ibri, Salalah, Ibra, etc sat in rows. Guru Maharaja was wheeled
through the gaps as he blessed all of them with Lord Jagannatha’s
toothbrush.
In the last hall program on friday afternoon, Mukunda Murari prabhu thanked
all the secretaries for their tireless and selfless services to Guru
Maharaja and requested Prema Padmini mataji to hand out the gift cheques to
them.
Guru Maharaja said that these six days passed so fast and that he was
swimming in an ocean of love.
So many devotees came early in the morning to see Guru Maharaja leave for
UAE on the last day. We had a cake cutting by Guru Maharaja as it was the
21st anniversary of Guru Maharaja’s visit to Mthuradesh as Guru Maharaja
arrived here on the same date 21 years ago. This was recollected by
Vignanasana Govinda prabhu who was visiting from Shyamadesh. He was
initiated by Guru Maharaja on that visit!
