24-Nov-08, evening report

HH Jayapataka Maharaj’s status report by Dr Madhavananda das, Director of
Bhaktivedanta Hospital, Mumbai

Maharaj is recovering well. He has been off the ventilator for 72 hours
now. He is fully conscious and alert.

Maharaj will be shifted out of the ICU into the ward in the next few days.
You may have read that he would be shifted out in the afternoon or
tomorrow, but that is not the fact.

Additional note by Dr Shiromani devi dasi: In the morning, the neurologist
Dr PP Ashok merely suggested shifting Maharaj out of the ICU but this news
was not put out by the Bhaktivedanta doctors because the decision to shift
him out of the ICU had to be made by the intensivist Dr Hegde. In the
afternoon when Dr Hegde came, he did not agree to shift Maharaj out of the
ICU today, but in the next few days.
