HH Jayapataka Maharaj’s status report by Dr Madhavananda das, Director of
Bhaktivedanta Hospital, Mumbai

HH Jayapataka Maharaj is stable in terms of consciousness. Using an
alphabet chart made by the devotees, Maharaj indicated the spelling
of ‘Haribol’. When he was asked whether he was saying Haribol to all the
devotees around the world, Maharaj emphatically nodded yes.

Dr NF Shah, the endocrinologist was quite positive today as the insulin
requirements are reducing which is a good sign, a sign of gradual
progressive recovery with decreasing stress levels.

However, Maharaj still requires ventilatory support.

Please continue to pray intensely.

I’ve been listening to this track every day and dedicating it to Guru
Maharaja and when I saw how Radha-prana prabhu had forwarded his YouTube
video to be posted to the JPSoffice site, I started thinking that maybe this
too would be a good thing to share with everybody. When I listen to this
while taking darshan of Guru Maharaja’s lotus face, I feel sure that Srila
Prabhupada is taking care of him.

HH Jayapataka Maharaj’s status report by Dr Madhavananda das, Director of
Bhaktivedanta Hospital, Mumbai

Maharaj’s consciousness level is the same- he is recognizing devotees and
trying to communicate. Trial oral feeds are still going on. He is able to
chew and swallow a few teaspoons of semi solid food. He was again made to
sit on a chair with support. The process of weaning from the ventilator is
going on and will take a few days for him to be completely off it. Please
continue your intense and enthusiastic prayers.

Maharaj was off the ventilator support for two hours. Now he is back on the
ventilatory support because he was breathless and tired. The trials for
weaning him off the ventilator will continue. Other parameters are stable.
Maharaj remains critical because he is still on the ventilator. Please
continue to pray intensely.

HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaja’s status report by Dr Madhavananda das,
Director of Bhaktivedanta Hospital:

Maharaja’s consciousness is the same as yesterday. The other parameters are
stable. Today at 10 am, they removed the vetilatory support. We have to wait
and watch to see how Maharaja responds. Please continue praying intensely.

Maharaj’s consciousness level is the same as yesterday. He is still on
minimal ventilatory support. The treating doctors are going to try to
remove the ventilatory support tomorrow. We hope and pray that he can
breathe on his own. Please continue your intense prayers.

Also today the doctors have allowed GM to begin eating semi solid food,
soups and an energy pudding…the nurse would say “Swamiji please open…now
swallow”…sometimes GM would not so but when Revati Raman implored saying
“The doctors have seen improvement allowing you to eat…so you must take to
get strong…please open”…he would then open his mouth and swallow.

Today GM has returned to more dependence on the ventilator system… The
doctors are not surprised it is more or less art of the weaning process…

In coming in Bhadra Balarama was on his right side and myself and Prahlad
Nrsimha was to his left, PN made a nice report to GM with respect to
personal and collective austerities being done on his behalf. I passed GM’s
Sudarsana Sila over Bhadra Balarama to place on the altar behind, then they
were inspired to give GM darshan so then I took Thakurji out showed to GM
and he looked and then he lifted his left hand up as though he wanted to
touch and we then brought the sila over to that side and he placed this arm
down and made a motion with his right hand to touch. Here he is displaying
perfect consciousness through the external body, correcting my mistake.
Bhadra Balarama couldn’t place the ring on his saturn finger or ring finger,
but it could only fit on his small finger as soon as Thakurji was on his
hand he made a fist and was so satisfied at the reunion.

Maharaj is gradually being weaned off the ventilator. He is on low
ventilatory support since afternoon. His consciousness level is the same.
He is trying to communicate. Today he was given trial oral feeds which he
accepted. He was also made to sit on a chair with support. Please continue
to pray intensely as Maharaj is still in need of the ventilator.
