Dear devotees,
Dandavat pranams
This Gaurpurnima festival at ISKCON JUHU in Mumbai, was not a normal
festival at all, for the first time they have HH Jayapataka Swami as a
special guest, since His Holiness never missed any Gaurpurnima Festival
since ISKCON Mayapur was founded in India. This year was the exception.
The temple was fully packed, all were waiting for the arrival of
Gurumaharaja in the afternoon for the lecture and then for the Maha
abhisheka. HH JPS was in Mayapur for the festival opening ceremony and for
the Panca tattva Mahaabisheka that is held each 5 years. But was not for the
appearance day of Lord Gauranga as he was taking treatments in Bombay.
Therefore this time it was scheduled to participate as a guest in one of
the most important temples of Radha Krishna in the world as is the JUHU
temple in the cosmoplitan city of India.
Gurumaharaja arrived at 4:00 pm, went to his asigned room in the new guest
house, got ready and then went to the temple to give a special lecture on
Caitanya Lila related to the appearance of Lord Caitanya. After that His
Holiness was taken in his wheelchair to be in front of the Altar of Sri Sri
Gaurnitai where he performed the aroti to Their Lordships, as it was done
by him in Mayapur during the Mahaabhisheka-darsan aroti. After this was the
abhisheka of the small Deities of Gaurnitai that were placed in he iddle
infront od the big deities inside the altar. The Chief host was His Holiness
Gopal Krsna Goswami, who was performing the abhisheka along with other
senior devotees.
After this transcendental event HH JPS went to his room and had some
meetings with some devotees then gave darsan to special guests and other
vaishnavas that were specially invited for this occasion. At 9:00 pm
Gurumaharaja let for Mira Road to the Bhaktivedanta Hospital.
At the hospital HH JPS has a very intensive schedule as since he wakes up in
the morning and after all his morning duties, he get 3 different kind of
therapies, then goes to the ground floor for more therapies till 2 pm, then
lunch prasad and rest until 5:30 pm. He wakes up and goes to the ground
floor again for more physiotherapies till 8 pm, total 4 hours of daily
therapies a part from Kottakal specialized therapies under the supervision
of a qualified ayurvedic doctor. His daily schedule is tight and has shown a
lot of improvement. Devotees are always praying for the speed recovery of
our Gurumaharaja.
