Dear devotees,
Dandavat pranams.
I would like to brief all of you about the recent activities of our beloved
Gurumaharaja Sri Jayapataka Swami, who is now preaching in Hong Kong till
the 19th of this month of June 2012.
Gurumaharja arrived before yesterday on the 16th of June 2012 directly to
Hong Kong from Los Angeles, where he was preaching for few days. This was
the last leg of his main tour for this year in the United States of
America.
For this period, Gurumaharaja visited Alachua for a special retreat with
many devotees (more than 130) who came from South, Central and North
America, Brazil, Italy, etc. to have his association and guidance’s. In
this retreat program our senior God brother HH Bhakti Purusottama Swami was
also present assisting our Gurumaharaja. There were special classes, first
and second initiations for some devotees.
On the Sunday feast with the temple fully packed and with many of Srila
Prabhupada’s disciples, Gurumaharaja spoke about the song he composed for
his spiritual master and how much His Divine Grace suffered to help many
people around the world to introduce to them Krsna Bhakti and the most
genuine process of spiritual advancement. It was very touching and many even
cried after hearing this class. I am explaining more on this topic later in
this report.
Previously, His Holiness was also preaching in few South-American countries
like Peru where he was for five days giving special classes and initiations.
Ecuador was the second yatra in South America especially the City of
Guayaquil. Something special happened in this yatra where the Municipality
of Guayaquil sent a high ranking representative to offer a special
distinction or Award to HH JPS for his services to the community in this
City as a spiritual master and a leader in community services, taking in
consideration the successful Food for life programs held in this City
constantly. In all the yatras visited there were special classes and
initiation ceremonies.
After the Alachua retreat, was the Panihatti festival in Atlanta as it’s a
tradition, where Guru maharaja in previous years used to prepare personally
many bhoga to be offered to the Deities in this special occasion of Panihati
Cida Dahi Utsava, but this time was done under his guidance’s and inputs
only. It was very touching to see our beloved Gurumaharja doing his best to
please and serve Lord Nityananda. In fact our beloved Guru Maharaja shows
all the symptoms of a Great Acharya. HH JPS also participated in the Atlanta
Rathayatra in his wheelchair.
HH JPS Gurumaharaja also gave a lecture about the song parama-karuna that
Srila Prabhupada sang in Atlanta after his visit to Caracas – Venezuela
where he also sang the same song falling in extasis to see how far Their
Divine Lordships have gone to distribute their unlimited mercy and
compasion. This was in 1975. HH JPS explained the meaning of this song to
the assembled devotees. As you all know HH JPS is considered an authority
about Caitanya Lila and many of the meanings hidden behind teh
transcendental pastimes of the Panca Tattva.
While in the USA, HH Jayapataka Swami supposed to leave for Toronto – Canada
but was cancelled as Ekannath Gaura das suppose to travel with him, but
wasn’t able to join so the plan was changed, however instead of that,
Gurumaharaja went to Dallas to participate in some programs and mainly in
the Sri Vyasapuja of HH Tamal Krsna Goswami, then after he went to
Philadelphia for one day program and then to the City of New York to
participate in the world famous New York Rathayatra. Gurumahraja ended his
preaching tour this in the USA in the City of Los Angeles, He also
visited Laguna Beach on last Wednesday on the 13th . His arrival in Hong
Kong was on the 16th of June.
It’s amazing all these activities for a person who has the physical
limitations that our beloved Gurumaharaja has, but a devotee fully
surrendered and of the caliber of Jayapataka Swami is completely
transcendental to body concepts and conditions.
Here in Hong Kong, Gurumahraja stays at Mukesh prabhu’s house, a devotee
from Nepal. During day time HH JPS goes to the temple to give lectures,
where yesterday at noon it was given to the Chinese congregation, while at
night was given to the Indian community.
As I mentioned above, I would like to point out one important topic about
the song composed last April 2012 by HH Jayapataka Swami to Srila Prabhupada
as a glorification for the Sri Vyasapuja of our Great Founder Acarya of
ISKCON where HH JPS is presenting it and giving class on this topic wherever
he goes emphasizing about how much Srila Prabhupada suffered to come to the
west and preach the glories of Lord Caitanya and the introduction of the
Mahamantra Hare Krishna to the whole world. In the song Gurumaharaja also
mentioned on how would have been the world now if Srila Prabhupada wouldn’t
have preached in the West. ( I am pasting the song with translation in
English and Spanish below at the end of this report).
I would like also to include part of the next itinerary of HH JPS in this
report as on the 19th of June, Gurumaharaja is going to Delhi, then after,
on the 20th to Kolkata. On the 21st is the very famous Kolkata Ratha
yatra and Gurumaharaja is always the Chief Guest, He gives association to
thousands of people, life members, congregational members, disciples,
followers, etc. In Kolkatta ( the birth place of HDG Srila Prabhupada) His
holiness will stay till the 26th of June. After that on the 27th of the
same month is going to Sri Mayapur Dham.
On the 4th of July Gurumahraja leaves to Delhi to Catch the flight to the
United Kingdom, arriving on the 5th of July and on the 6th is traveling to
Serbia. Then on the 12th is back to London to catch the flight to Moscow –
Russia on the 13th of July. In Moscow Gurumaharaja will attend the Bhakti
Vriksha festival, as You all know he is the minister for Congregational
Development Ministry since its creation.
On the 20th of July, Gurumahraja will go back to London to attend from the
21st till 25th the Birmingham Rathayatra.
On the 26th & 27th of July His Holiness will be in Damodardesh and then on
the 28th will go to Mayapur and stay in the holy dham till the
Janmasthami celebration.
As the devotees who are traveling with Gurumaharaja are very busy, so
sometimes they are not able to have time to write diaries, however I get all
this information from them via chatting or phone calls. Some pictures and
information’s, are been posted on the Facebook pages for the last few days.
The devotees who are traveling now with Gurumaharaja are Mahavaraha das, who
has remained as main traveling secretary and assistant since His Holiness
suffered the stroke, also Ekannath Gaura das prabhu who is also very expert
in serving and traveling with Gurumahraja, He was with Gurumaharaja since
this tour from South America, The USA and now in Asia. Coming with them
from USA is also Ghaneshyam Govinda prabhu. From India Madhava Kantha das,
Devo Gauranga das both experts also in the personal service of HH JPS
traveled to assist the devotees in Hong Kong, while Gokul Damodara prabhu
from Malaysia also came to be part of the team of assistant to our beloved
spiritual master.
I hope that some devotees from all the yatras that our Gurumaharaja have
visited would kindly send to us their reports to be posted for the benefits
and pleasure of the devotees.
