Latest report on HH JPS Gurumaharja’s health by Dr. Acyutananda Pr.

Dear devotees,

Dandavats pranams,

Here i am posting for the benefit and information of all the receivers of
this conference the report sent by HG Dr. Acyutananda das Prabhu who has
been with HH JPS Gurumaharaja since the very beginning serving him and now
also traveling with him in Los Angeles.

this reports intends to clear out some doubt  and to give a clear picture of
the current situation of the health of Gurumaharaja as well as to give some
advices to all the disciples and well-wishers of GM who are concerned about
his progress in order to achieve some sort of independence in his physical
movements.

As you all know HH JPS is a first class preacher and devotee, always
thinking in how to serve his Divine Gurudeva, Srila Prabhupada, so he very
rarely thinks in his body and the physical limitations he has to stop his
traveling or preaching’s, but it is up to us to take care of these issues
and understand the situation with maturity and take always the proper
decision for the benefit or Gurumaharaja above of all our sentimentalism or
desires. in this way we helping GM in his recevery period and offer more
devotional service and follow up his instructions,

Vyasa Puja Celebration – a report from LA

Dear devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga!

The last weekend around 150 disciples gathered in LA to celebrate the Vyasa
Puja of their beloved spiritual master, His Holiness Srila Jayapataka Swami
Maharaja.
On Thursday evening, March 25th, the adivas ceremony was observed in the big
prasadam hall. Guru Maharaja was seated on the beautifuly decorated
asana/chair and male devotees were offering him the auspicious objects,
which were offered to salagram and Gopal Deities, Tulasi Devi and earth,
while the chanting of vedic mantras was going on. After that Guru Maharaja
distributed prasadam to all the assembled devotees and greeted them. It was
very sweet and intimate ceremony where everyone was able to be near Guru
Maharaja’s lotus feet and male devotees were able to perform this vedic
ritual personaly to Guru Maharaja. Before that Guru Maharaja gave a speech
and explained how this adivas ceremony is preparing all the participants for
the important event that will take place the next day, in this case the
Vyasa Puja of Sri Guru, which is one of the most important events in the
life of a disciple.

Request from HH Bhakti Purushottama Maharaja

Dear Prabhus / Matajis,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Guru Maharaja is now getting treated in Los
Angeles. According to his secretary and personal doctor, his health is
improving but very slowly.

I had previously made an appeal to the devotees to chant extra rounds and
offer to the Lord for the speedy recovery of His Holiness’s health. Though
His Holiness has been saved from the very critical health crisis due to the
prayers and chanting of thousands and thousands of devotees around the world
still he has not yet recovered fully to travel and preach around the world
to fulfill the desire of his Guru maharaja, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila
Prabhupada.

At the time of the stroke in Mumbai when his health was at danger we had
come across with many astrologers. Many of their predictions regarding the
recovery of his health had come true.

Letter from Guru Maharaja

My Dear Diksa and Siksa Disciples,

Please accept my blessings. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Kindly find the enclosed report of my present therapies and condition since
I’ve come to America (Note: the report has been already posted earlier). You
can find more details of the previous therapies undertaken from the website
www.jpshealth.info posted by Ratnavali dd.

Many of my disciples are asking when I will visit them and when will I come
to Mayapur. I am not sure yet. I’ve written the GBC Officers and to the
Mayapur Leaders to ask them whether I should continue the therapies or go
back to Mayapur. I will certainly like to visit all of you but I don’t know
how much possible it is. If the physiotherapy is successful then I should be
able to travel and visit. I was traveling around the world 5 or 6 times in a
year, obviously I would not be able to travel as much in the future, but
regarding of how much I’ll travel is not yet, it is premature to decide now.
In this way, I would like to spend more time in my zone, and a few months a
year I’d visit the other centers whenever possible.

GM’s health report by Sraddha DD

Continuity has proven to be the best therapy for Guru Maharaj. Though many
of you may think he is finally resting, Guru Maharaj is undergoing several
hours of various therapies daily. He sees physical, occupational, and speech
therapists daily and a visual therapist, a chiropractor, and a neurologist
weekly.

When he is not being retrained in balance, walking, fine motor skills  and
other daily activities in the High Hopes facility (for 7 hours daily), Guru
Maharaj is training in a gym, in a pool or in his apartment. His unmatched
enthusiasm, the dedicated team of devotees and therapists, the continuity of
treatment, and all of your prayers are helping him in his recovery. His
progress is gradual, but is quite visible and inspiring.

A report by Guru Maharaja on his present health situation

Since the beginning of Dec and Jan I’ve been taking therapies in Southern
California. I’ve been graciously offered a quarter in the Los Angeles
Temple, New Dwarka, by Svavas prabhu, the temple president. He said that as
long as it takes I am welcome to stay for the therapies. Some of the
devotees attending me are staying in the quarter and some are in the
brahmacari and brahmacarini quarters.

The therapy is basically centered from Monday thru Thursday at the High
Hopes Head Injury Rehabilitation Program. There may be around 50 to 100
students at High Hopes. They are a Charitable Trust so they charge $2500 per
month, where as other places in North America seem to charge about $1000 a
day, more or less.

25-Mar-09, Report by Guru Maharaja

Dear Devotees,

Hare Krsna. Please accept my most humble obeisances. All glories to Srila
Prabhupada. All glories to Srila Gurudeva.

Today Guru Maharaja was on his way to Juhu ISKCON temple and during his
vehical ride dictated the following report about himself through a phone
call. Shiromani mataji was repeating Guru Maharaja’s words as I took the
notes.

“My right side of the body is not fully paralysed but temporarily paralysed
and weak. Initially my right hand no feeling and now there is a little
feeling as a result of acupuncture, massage and occupational therapies.
