HH Jayapataka Swami, (life story)
HH Jayapataka Swami.
By Tusti Mohan Krsna das.
The success of His Divine Grace Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in
spreading Krsna Consciousness around the world starting from North America
basically is definitely an amazing achievement for a great personality
empowered by the Lord Himself to fulfill an almost impossible mission in
Kali Yuga in a very short time, but this success of Srila Prabhupada is also
because of the inspiration that His Divine Grace have given to young people
in the western societies during a very important era in the 20th century
full of conflicts and transformation. Among these young people inspired by
Srila Prabhupada to carry on this task, is His Holiness Jayapataka Swami
that in 1968 surrendered totally to His Spiritual Master Srila A.C.
Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and to Sri Sri GaurNitai, the most merciful
incarnations of the Lord Himself in this era.
Srila Prabhupada: “I went to your country with a mission & you all good
souls were sent by Krishna to me.”
Dear God-brothers / God-sisters,
Hare Krishna! Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila
Prabhupada. All glories to Srila Guru Maharaj.
This year, the Most Blessed Event, the “Sri Vyasa Puja Celebrations” of our
dear Guru Maharaj falls on 14th April 2011.
We are planning to have grand celebrations at Sridam Mayapur and special
seminars on the theme “Deepening Relations – with vaishnavas, guru and
Krishna”. Senior Godbrothers and Senior Sannyasi disciples of Gurudev would
be enlightening us on the various topics related to the theme.
My dear spiritual father Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada,
Please accept my respectful obeisances. All glories to Your Divine Grace.
When I offered to serve you life after life, you replied, “Why do you want
me to come back again and again?”
So then I said, “Well, if you do not want to take me back to Godhead, then I
want to serve you here, life after life.” You smiled.
On another occasion I said, “Srila Prabhupada, you are the most merciful and
I am the most fallen – “.
You interrupted and said, “You are not the most anything.”
In this way you are always giving your mercy in so many ways. I am very
grateful that I had many personal exchanges like these with Your Divine
Grace.
Now I am trying to follow the GBC, as your representative. They asked me to
stay here in Los Angeles to undergo treatment for my stroke. By the time of
your Vyasa puja celebration I will have been here over six months. Gradually
I am recovering.
I am very happy – and I am sure Your Divine Grace is also pleased – that the
Plenatarium is underway thanks to the efforts of Ambarisa Prabhu and his
team.
Vyasa Puja Celebration – a report from LA
Dear devotees,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga!
The last weekend around 150 disciples gathered in LA to celebrate the Vyasa
Puja of their beloved spiritual master, His Holiness Srila Jayapataka Swami
Maharaja.
On Thursday evening, March 25th, the adivas ceremony was observed in the big
prasadam hall. Guru Maharaja was seated on the beautifuly decorated
asana/chair and male devotees were offering him the auspicious objects,
which were offered to salagram and Gopal Deities, Tulasi Devi and earth,
while the chanting of vedic mantras was going on. After that Guru Maharaja
distributed prasadam to all the assembled devotees and greeted them. It was
very sweet and intimate ceremony where everyone was able to be near Guru
Maharaja’s lotus feet and male devotees were able to perform this vedic
ritual personaly to Guru Maharaja. Before that Guru Maharaja gave a speech
and explained how this adivas ceremony is preparing all the participants for
the important event that will take place the next day, in this case the
Vyasa Puja of Sri Guru, which is one of the most important events in the
life of a disciple.
